Michael researched areas to visit and found some great recommendations for Cascais, a lovely town close to Lisbon. We arranged a 3-week stay to give us time to get a feel for the vibe and house hunt. Cascais has a vibrant food culture with many outdoor restaurants in the Centro area and the marina is close by as well. The city is walkable with a defined path for walking, biking, riding, skating, etc all along the main waterfront area and several beaches within town proper and a few minutes drive. There are many side areas to step off and view the cliffs. The people were lovely and made us feel right at home. Here’s the local Cascais market where we shopped on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Spring in Cascais is lovely and the wildflowers caught my eye. Here are some we took along the walking trails.
Along the seawall lies a wonderful bike/walk/run/skate path that goes for miles/kilometers! One of the points of interest is the Boca do Inferno. Such a lovely walk.
March is the BEST month of the year, for me! Spring, our anniversary and my birthday all rolled up in one glorious cake-opportunity time period 🥰. Lockdown made anniversary dinner difficult but we managed to find lovely items at the market. Champagne, chocolate and the beach for my birthday! Here are some pics of the beautiful Praia do Guincho and my celebration champagne from our balcony.
We caught several sunsets, but this one was really nice. Here are some of my pics.
